- Two shadows holding hands
- swaying like the trees in nights breath.
- Devoted to each others life
- united past the point of death.
- I once dreaded the hands of age,
- afraid I would be unable to leave my mark.
- Afraid I would waste this life looking
- only to find it lonely and dark.
- Afraid that the lines on my face
- would find me bitter and alone.
- Joy written upon the water,
- Failure written in the stone.
- The sands of time
- know where our footsteps fall.
- So we must rise to the occasion
- and answer the call
- But the years follow us, coloring our faces
- with lines of truth and compassion.
- whispered effects of friendship and loyalty,
- of humanity and of passion.
- I find no fear in growing old
- knowing love as you have shown.
- I am comforted by your words
- and blessed by all that I have known.
