- I open my eyes in the morning
- and start crying where I lay,
- Oh God, I made it through the night
- and will have to live another day.
- I see my life as a calendar
- each square to mark and track.
- The days that have passed are blank
- and the ones ahead, pitch black.
- It wasn't long ago this was all I had,
- I prayed each night; out loud for God to hear.
- To bring me someone to help with these burdens
- to lessen the lonliness and the fear.
- They say that God doesn't so much give you what you ask,
- but he certainly gives you what you need.
- Instead of giving a little, he gave me alot
- and set me on a path that I could lead.
- To answer all my prayers,
- God gave me you.
- Now the squares are filled with light
- full of new things to do.
- I look forward to tommorrow,
- and am proud of my accomplishments in the past.
- I am excited, fullfilled, I even dream
- and each day I'm more happy then the last.
