Tube agate cab ~
Offered here is an enchanting cabochon of tube agate from Oregon, exact location unknown. It was cut from a prized nodule that was tucked away for decades in the cherished collection of an old gentleman lapidary. It is truly a unique stone, with a fantastic pattern of intricate tube-like tendrils in highly translucent agate. The mosses are reminiscent of shooting stars in a meteor storm, perhaps, or tiny fingers of living coral undersea. The cab has a high rounded dome of 6mm, a graceful designer 'almond' shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
