Saddle Mt. petrified wood cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Saddle Mountain petrified wood, which might be more accurately called a wood replacement. I can certainly tell you this excellent agate material is a pleasure to work with, with none of the typical fractures pet wood so often has. The colors are wonderfully warm and fiery, and the stone is partially translucent. Viewed one way with some imagination, it's interestingly scenic, showing a good likeness to a blazing forest fire. A designer's delight! The cab has a well rounded dome, a crisp and curvy shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
