Offered here is a cab of Deschutes jasper, from Oregon. A long time favorite in the celebrated family of porcelain jaspers, this classic old material has become quite collectibly rare these days. This cabochon features a spectacular pattern in rich earthy tones in orangish tans and chocolate browns, even some blue grays, in a pattern that's absolutely astounding. With a bit of imagination, it might be called scenic when oriented just so, though in a very abstract way. The jet black dendrites do look a lot like bushes. It should be a snap to dream up the perfect setting to turn this one into wearable art. It has a very high rounded dome of 6+mm, a gracefully fluid designer shape that enhances the jasper's pattern to the fullest, and a super slick, glassy polish both front and back.
