Malachite cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of chatoyant malachite, from Africa. This delightful stone displays several bullseyes against a sparkling dark green 'velvet' backdrop that's most unusual. Its true crystalline appearance was tough to capture properly in pixels, but the last photo does show a hint of that and the surprising chatoyance in the stone; please enlarge the pic to full size for a good look. The stone has a graceful shape, a high rounded dome of 7mm, and a slick glossy polish both front and back.
