Apache jasper cab ~
Offered here is a splendid cabochon of Apache jasper, actually a rhyolite, also known as Mimbres Valley jasper, after the New Mexico location where it's found. This fabulous material is loaded with southwest flavor, with a strong resemblance to the sagebrush dotted desertscapes. This fine example features has a plethora of dendrites and wavy bandings in shades of deep maroon and dusty rose pink. The stone has a generously rounded dome of 6mm, and a great glossy polish both front and back.
