Flowering tube onyx cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of flowering tube onyx, a rediscovered rarity from Utah. This material is simply amazing in its complex and varied patterns, and this cab is a fine example. It features ornate flowery figures surrounded by wild concentric bandings, and a bullseye of orbs within orbs. The orange, yellow and black colors somehow remind me of Halloween, or Autumn. Neat! The cab has very few of the typical hairlines that frequently plague this material, so it's sure to attract attention no matter what the season. It has a very high rounded dome just under 8mm, a graceful designer 'paisley' shape, and a fine glossy polish both front and back.
