Carnelian agate cab ~
Offered here is a gorgeous cabochon of carnelian agate, also known as orange chalcedony, from the Polly Drummond agate beds, Oregon. It features juicy orange coloration, with some areas in an unusual pinkish hue that's seldom seen. Within the translucent body of the stone is a remarkable pattern of internal 'cornflakes' and spidery webs so sought after by collectors. The color is so strongly saturated that it overwhelms the camera's eye and tends to wash out details like the flakes in this cab, so please be sure to click the photos up to their full size for the best view. The stone has a well rounded dome of 6mm, a gracefully fluid designer 'paisley' shape, and a brilliantly glassy polish both front and back.
Size: 40x23mm
