Rhodochrosite cab ~
Offered here is a collectible cabochon of top notch rhodochrosite, from Argentina, cut from the base of a rare stalactite. Not easy to come by like it once was, last I heard, the price of material from this classic Inca Rose location is strictly controlled by the Argentinian goverment. -grr- This gemmy gel-like cab features vibrant pink coloration that's simply amazing. It has crystalline veils, a single nice orb, some lacy bands including a dark one that's actually shiny metallic, and a remarkable degree of warm translucence. The stone has a low but rounded dome just under 3.5mm, a carved designer 'paisley' shape, and a great glossy polish both front and back.
