Stone Canyon jasper cab ~
Offered here is a fancy cabochon of Stone Canyon jasper, from California. It is fine example of brecciated jasper, which means the original ochre-yellow jasper was once broken apart by some powerful earth movement, and then naturally re-cemented with clear and contrasting burgundy-red agate. The stone has quite a bit of translucency in those infilled areas, for an extra added dimension of depth. The stone has a very high rounded dome of 6mm, a sweet designer 'diamond' shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
