Dinosaur bone cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of fossilized dinosaur bone, from Utah (Thanks, Bob!!). This highly silicated material is many millions of years old, a fascinating example of the natural preservation of our earth's ancient, extinct 'thunder lizards'. Over millennia, the cells in this fossil bone have been completely replaced with a VERY RARE ivory white shade of agate. Each cell is framed by a web of the actual cell walls, now a pinkish red shade, forever frozen in time. The cab has a high rounded dome of 7+mm, and an excellent glassy polish both front and back.
