Stone Canyon jasper ~
Offered here is a designer cabochon of Stone Canyon jasper, from California. It is fine example of brecciated stone, which means the original ochre-yellow jasper was once broken apart by some powerful earth movement, and then naturally re-cemented with contrasting burgundy-red agate. The agate has a bit of translucency in those infilled areas, for a little added depth. The stone has a very high rounded dome, a sleek designer shape, and a great glossy polish both front and back.
