Lazulite in quartzite cab ~
Offered here is a sweet designer cabochon cut from rare lazulite in quartzite, premium lapidary material from Georgia's Graves Mountain area. In this fascinating example, there are several deep blue lazulite crystals, the largest of which shows excellent dipyramidal form. The grayish quartzite base has a nice degree of translucence, and contains a multitude of silvery pyrite flecks that shimmer and sparkle like glitter, though only a hint of them is visible in the enlarged photos.
