Dinosaur bone cab ~
Offered here is a large cabochon of fossilized dinosaur bone, from Utah. This highly silicated material is many millions of years old, and it is a marvelous example of the natural preservation of our earth's ancient, extinct 'thunder lizards'. The cells in this fossil bone have been completely replaced with pale bluish-purple agate, with a scattering of reddish-orange cells, and each is framed with a lattice-like network of black webbing. Those are the actual cell walls, and they're quite distinct here. The cab has a high rounded dome, a subtle designer 'flame' shape, and a smooth glassy polish both front and back.
