Offered here is a cabochon of top quality crinoid marble, ancient material from China. This one is a colorfully crazy patchwork of figures in wine-red, pink, cream, and black. The truly unique pattern is made up of the stems of fossilized plants called crinoids, which collected on the sea floor and were compressed into solid marble over millenia. Amazing stuff! No marble or fossil collection is complete without some crinoid marble, and this fascinating cab would be an intriguing centerpiece in any type of jewelry creation you can imagine. The stone has a very high rounded dome of 6.5mm, a curvy designer shape, and a super glossy polish both front and back.
