Jasper and hematite cab ~
Offered here is a bold cabochon of orange jasper with hematite, from Australia. It features yellow spoltches framed by orange and seemingly black bandings, but those dark ones are actually shiny silvery hematite. The metallics add a striking contrast, but were difficult to capture digitally; you can catch only a glimpse of their true nature in these photos. The cab has a very high rounded dome, a gracefully sleek 'almond' shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
