Horse Canyon agate~
Here is a large, deluxe cabochon of rare Horse Canyon agate, from California. This most famous type of moss agate is arguably some of the prettiest and rarest there is. Sadly, the area where it comes from is all private and closed, so there's been no collecting for quite some time now. This unique cab features the classic characteristics of mossy tendrils in pastels of green and yellow, in a highly translucent agate base. There's a teensy drusy pocket present too, which adds a lovely sparkle at certain angles. Please be sure to click the pics up to full size to truly appreciate the artful beauty! This substantial stone has a very high rounded dome of 6.5mm, a strong designer 'shield' shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
