Raspberry tube agate cab ~
Offered here is a designer cabochon of raspberry tube agate from Mexico. This colorfully figured agate is mined at the Crown Of Silver psilomelane claims as an extra added bonus. The pretty raspberry and pinkish coloration is due to the infiltration of rhodonite, so the miner tells me. This interesting example has mossy plumes and dark tubes of psilomelane, in a background of translucent agate with crystalline quartz. There's also a scattering of teensy pockets, very typical of this material, and a lovely translucence throughout the stone. The cab has a very high rounded dome of 7.5mm, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
