Petrified wood cab ~
Here is a fine cabochon of gorgeous Yellow Cat Flats petrified wood, more accurately called a wood replacement. This totally agatized (and rare) material is a genuine treat to work with, and mighty tough rough to pry from the hands of collectors. -smile- The color is brilliant to-die-for crimson on reddish orange, with fortification banding and a core of purplish agate. The backside is amazing too, with a larger banded pattern. Best of all, I don't see any of the typical heartbreaking fractures this material so often has. The cab has a very high rounded dome, a gracefully fluid shape, and a perfectly glassy polish both front and back.
