Homedale Blue plume agate cab ~
Here is a delightfully distinguished designer cabochon of the old time 'Homedale Blue' plume agate, from the reknown claim near Graveyard Point. There are a number of wannabees out there that really aren't, but this one is the real deal, staight from the current miner! There's no mistaking that gorgeous bluish-purple background agate! Against that is a contrasting display of spidery dendrites and golden yellowish plumes, with a scattering of glittery metallic marcasite. There's a great degree of depth to this stone, and it appears almost opalescent in certain lighting, with feathery 'snow storms' going on inside. The stone has a very high rounded dome, a gracefully strong shape, and despite a couple non-distracting micro pits, it has a sleek glassy polish both front and back.
