Silver lace onyx cab ~
Offered here is a freeform designer cab of gorgeous silver lace onyx. This long sought-after type of onyx actually has some silver content, and is found in the Calico Mountains of California. Or it was, anyway; I doubt it's still open to collecting. This cab is an excellent example, featuring a stunning pattern of beautiful dark dendritic 'trees' that stand out in sharp contrast against a snowy white background. There's also a touch of orangish-yellow for added appeal, a sprinkling of shiny metallic flecks (silver?) in several of the dendrites, and some gemmy translucence toward the banded tip. The stone has a very high rounded dome, a gracefully curved shape, and a super glossy polish both front and back.
