Tiffany stone cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of opalite, from the Brush-Wellman beryllium mine in Utah. Sometimes known as bertrandite, Tiffany stone, ice cream opal, and 'Purple Passion', no matter what you call it, it's certainly gorgeous stuff! I'm told this rare opal gets its beautiful coloration from fluorite. This fine example has splashes of lovely purple, jet black dendrites, and a couple pools of bluish agate that are particularly intriguing. It has a very high rounded dome, a crisp curving shape, and a great glassy polish both front and back.
