Carnelian agate cab ~
Offered here is a designer cabochon of fiery Oregon carnelian, also known as orange chalcedony. It features juicy translucent cherry-orange coloration, with an excellent pattern of internal 'cornflakes'. I tried my best to capture the gorgeous 'flakes inside this stone, and was doing pretty good until I snapped the backlit picture, which shows very little of the beauty that's actually present. The stone is MUCH nicer than the photos, and believe me, carnelian with this vividly rich color is none too easy to find these days! It has a very high rounded dome, a gracefully fluid shape, and an excellent glassy polish, slick and smooth as can be, both front and back.
