Deming plume agate cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of fascinating Deming plume agate, from New Mexico. It features pools of rose with a bunch of off white plumes against a bluish translucent agate base. One corner appears to be a dark metallic of some kind, possibly an ore of manganese. The stone has a very high rounded dome, and a crisp symmetrical shape. Despite a very slight degree of undercutting in the plumes that's quite typical of this material, it has a great glassy polish front and back.
