Offered here is a gemmy cabochon of rhodochrosite, from Catamarca, Argentina. This example features vibrant shades of rose-pink coloration accompanied by a bit of banding and an exceptional degree of sparkly crystalline translucence. A close look reveals some ghostly white plumes! The cab has a well rounded dome of 6+mm, an elegant designer drop shape, and an excellent polish both front and back.
