Gaspeite cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of old stock gaspeite, a rare nickel carbonate mineral which hails from the original source in the Gaspe` Peninsula in Quebec, Canada, from which it takes its name. This example features an amazingly bright apple green coloration with mottled webbings of tan here and there. This cab was the only one cut from a small but promising natural nugget I've had for many, many years, and I do hope someone enjoys this little treasure. The stone has a well rounded dome of 8mm and a plump designer 'flame' shape, polished both front and back. Please note that some of the tan webbing stands a bit proud of the green, but does nothing to detract from the beauty, as visually, it's not at all noticeable. And my per-carat price for a stone of this calibre is UNBEATABLE!
Size: 45x27mm
