Chrysoprase cab ~
Offered here is a large cabochon of Australian chrysoprase from the more recent digs near Yerilla, Australia. Like the old Marlboro material, it's a gemmy chalcedony colored by the presence of nickel, giving it the beautiful glowing green shade for which it is prized. This particular example is translucent, with interesting color zoning, some fine webs that are nearly colorless, and a scattering of jet black spidery dendrites. Yummy! This stone has a nicely rounded dome of nearly 8mm, a designer drop shape, and a super glassy polish both front and back.
