Offered here is a splendid cabochon of TOP NOTCH African pietersite. The distinguished example pictured here is truly a remarkable beauty, featuring golden yellow, and light to midnight blue chatoyance in a silky, swirling, folded pattern that dances with the light. Nice red and orange accents, too, very velvety, with just one small dot of unusual pinkish matrix. A sharp eye will discern how the chatoyance changes with each view of this stone; please be sure to click the pics to enlarge them to full size to view the extaordinary details. This stone has a low but nicely rounded dome of 4+mm, a bold designer shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back. And considering how the cost of fine pietersite has sky-rocketed in recent years, my per carat price for a stone of this size and quality is a genuine bargain!
