King cobra jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon cut from king cobra jasper, from India. This material arrived several years ago now with deliciously nice tropical hues, quite unlike the cobra jasper I'd seen before, which is drab by comparison. The newer stuff is light years more exciting. This example is mottled pink, cream and white, with patches of burnt orange, rust and golden ochre. The tiny grayish pools are composed of a quartz blend, adding interest. Try a cab of this delightful jasper, and I'm sure you'll be very pleased! The stone has a well rounded dome of 6mm, a gracefully fluid designer shape, and a fabulous glassy polish both front and back.
