Crown of Silver psilomelane cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Crown Of Silver psilomelane, from Chihuahua, Mexico. This dark beauty features an array of subtle bandings in sub-metallic black and shiny silver. There are some unusual plume-like figures, along with a couple interesting reddish patches framed in silver for extra added character. Those red spots are opaque, one showing some mossy figure, and look to be a jasper/agate mixture. The stone is very highly reflective, making photography quite challenging, but the pics are a decent representation: much of the detail is rather overwhelmed by the stone's darkness, though you can still have plenty of fun with this one. It has a crisp designer shape, a rounded dome of 6mm, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
