Ocean jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of ocean jasper, which hails from Madagascar. Sadly, I'm told it's all dug out now. This example has a background of dark forest green, overlaid with an impressive assortment of white bullseyes and eyes. They are fortified with green and gray, and all have green shades at their centers. By my lights, this type of ocean jasper seems to have a rather exotic flavor, and this one certainly has its share of contrast and character. The stone has a generously high rounded dome of 7mm, a crisp designer shape, and a great glassy polish both front and back.
