Amethyst sage agate cab~
Offered here is a cabochon of amethyst sage agate, from Nevada. This is old stock material, and I feel fortunate to have been able to enjoy working with it. The dendrites and coloration of this classic agate material sometimes combine in amazingly realistic scenic patterns, as is the case with this unique example. There's a flat-topped mesa, complete with foliage, beautifully contrasted against the pastel lavender skies of an early sunrise, or late sunset. And the flip side has yet another mountainous scenic pattern with steep gorges, so an open backed setting would be just the thing to show it off. The stone has a versatile shape, and a well-rounded dome of 6mm, brilliantly polished both front and back.
