Royal imperial jasper cab ~
Offered here is a large & splendidly unique cabochon of Imperial jasper, from Mexico. This collectible 'ojitos' (little eyes) material is the very best of the best, and thankfully, I have amassed a huge old horde of outstanding rough nodules so I can continue to share them with you. The figure in this remarkable stone is composed of orbs stacked one atop the next, with a neat craquelure pattern in the foremost orb that resembles block lettering. It is a study in various soft pastel shades of green, with darker nuanced shading. There's a band of avocado green edging and creamy old ivory around most of the perimeter, too. The backside is outrageously beautiful as well, so an open backed setting would be just the thing to show off *both* sides. The stone has a well rounded dome of 5mm, a gracefully curved designer 'flame' shape, and a brilliantly glassy polish both front and back.
