Rhodochrosite cab ~
Offered here is a large, awesome collector's cabochon of rhodochrosite, from Argentina, with PLUMES! At one side, this outstanding stone features wavy bands of absolutely gorgeous glowing pink coloration, with off white. The other side is composed of warm golden calcite with bunches of beautifully ornate plumes framed by strong fortification bands. Separating the two zones is a scalloped band of cream, with fancy little figures within it that resemble buds. The stone is surprisingly translucent, considering the generous thickness, though I didn't take a backlit photo. Believe me when I say this one is truly a KEEPER, as I am sorely tempted to do just that! This stone has a plump designer drop shape, with a high rounded dome of 6.5mm, polished to a lustrous brilliance both front and back.
