Amethyst Sage Agate ~
Offered here is a cabochon of amethyst sage agate, from Nevada. This is old stock material, and I feel fortunate to have been able to enjoy working with it. The dendrites and coloration of this classic agate material sometimes combine in amazingly realistic scenic patterns, as is the case with this unique example. Mists seem to envelope the silhouetted foliage, beautifully contrasted against the pastel lavender and orange skies of an early sunrise, or late sunset. The stone has a versatile shape, and a well-rounded dome of 6mm, brilliantly polished both front and back.
