Royal imperial jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of imperial jasper, from Mexico. This collectible 'ojitos' (little eyes) material is my very favorite of the porcelain jaspers. The pattern in this stone is composed of soft, rounded orbs stacked one atop the next. There are several shades of blue, which is less common than most other hues, from soft sky blue to a darker teal blue, and just the merest hint of smoky-lavender in some of the orbs. A band of creamy ivory edging around most of the stone's perimeter, too. The stone has a low rounded dome, a designer 'catseye' shape that frames the pattern beautifully, and a slick, glassy polish both front and back.
