Royal Aztec lace agate ~
Offered here is a large cabochon of royal Aztec lace agate, from Mexico. This old stock material was never too plentiful, and has become even more scarce these days. This example has lovely lavender to purple shades with oodles of lacy scallops, razor-fine fortification bands, and a few pretty rose-like florettes. It is very nicely translucent too, as illustrated by the backlite photo. It will look terrific in a setting of bright yellow gold, but silver would work wonderfully too. The cab has a curvy designer 'flame' shape, a generously high rounded dome of 8mm, and a gleaming polish both front and back.
