Cubuk needle agate cab ~
Offered here is an impressive cabochon of Cubuk needle agate, a relatively recent addition to the lapidary world, which hails from Turkey. This example boasts a fascinating pattern of sagenitic tubes in rich root beer browns, edged in white, that resemble cut straws. They stand out in sharp contrast, while the eye is drawn into the translucent depths of the stone wherever the needles pierce through it. There are also ghostly fortifications and tiny pale blue pseudomorphs for extra added character. The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 5mm, a curvy designer freeform shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
