Red horn coral cab ~
Offered here is a LARGE, deluxe cabochon of red horn coral, which hails from Utah. Horn corals are actually ancient sea life, and you can clearly see the organic nature of this once-living coral within the semi-translucent agate. It has the classic 'radiating spoke' figure, a several tiny brecciated bullseyes, dots, and more. The much better than average color is a lovely saturated reddish-orange and coral-pink, with just a few small bits of calcite in the mix. Beautifully translucent, as illustrated by the backlit photo. Front and center for this one! The stone has a well rounded dome of 6mm, a plump designer 'teardrop' shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
