Petrified wood cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of petrified wood, classic old stock material once found near Hollbrook, Arizona. The intriguing patterning in this stone is due to the agate replacement of the once living wood, and the grain is still apparent. I'm fairly sure the species is Auricaria. This striking example features the brilliant coloration of a sunset, in lovely crimson-orange, overlaid with black and peach chiffon figure. Truly unique, and GORGEOUS! The cab has a well rounded dome of 5mm, a designer 'bullet' shape, and a super glassy polish both front and back.
