Sugilite cab ~
Offered here is an cabochon of sugilite, from the Wessels mine near Kuramen, South Africa. This manganese gem features a gorgeous reddish-purple coloration with an unusual speckled pattern of dots. No, it's not the gemmy gel material few of us can find or afford, but it's definitely beautiful nonetheless. One thing I like about sugilite, other than the delightful color, is that it looks equally terrific in either silver or gold. The cab has a well rounded dome of 5mm, a designer teardrop shape, and an excellent polish both front and back.
