Serape jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of serape jasper, a recently mined material that hails from Mexico. This jasper-agate blend was so named for its resemblance to the ubiquitous Mexican serape, a garment often made from a striped blanket. This striking example has a truly wild pattern of streaks and patches in golden yellow, crimson, maroon, slate gray, and pastel periwinkle. There is also a faint secondary pattern of lines going across the stone. It ought to be thrilling set in either silver or gold, or whatever else you might conjure up! It has a low rounded dome, a crisp designer 'spear' shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
Size: 48x24mm
