Rutilated quartz cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of dazzling angel hair rutilated quartz, from Brazil, some of the best I've had to work with in many years. It has an abundance of beautifully flashy needles of bright golden rutile, scattered like jackstraws. The quality I like best about it is this stone's remarkable depth, created by the layers of rutile, bunched up, single, and one atop the other, criss-crossing every which way. The water clear quartz really shows off, and even amplifies, this stone's many rutile inclusions. And you should see how dazzling they look in direct sunlight: Just like threads of spun gold! It has a high rounded dome of 7mm, a designer 'flame' shape, and a slick, glassy all-over polish.
