Bruneau jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of classic Bruneau Canyon jasper, from Idaho. It features a pleasing pattern of orbs, and partial orbs, in rich shades of pastel peach. The orbs are outlined by a darker shade of burnt orange, which also provides a contrasting backdrop. Sadly, the best of this hard porcelain jasper is becoming alarmingly scarce and spendy these days, and last I heard the claim has been regulated out of production for good now. Bruneau jasper remains a favorite, and I love the stuff! The stone has a low but nicely rounded dome of about 5mm, and a plump designer 'crescent' shape, brilliantly polished both front and back.
