Polka dot agate cab ~
Offered here is a unique cabochon of Priday polka dot agate, which hails from Oregon. This old stock material is a pleasure to work with, and never fails to cut extraordinary stones. This pattern in this example has an intricate pattern composed of clusters of creamy dots against a bluish backdrop. The darkest areas are actually sub-metallic, exhibiting a silvery sheen much like gun metal does, which turned out to be tough to capture in these photos. The stone is cut in a versatile designer 'teardrop' shape with a nicely rounded dome of 5mm, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
