Dendritic opalite cab ~
Offered here is a large and unique cabochon of dendritic opalite, from Western Australia. Some of us may be more familiar with the golden variety of this delightful moss opalite, but I also like of the designing possibilities of this black and white material. This example is extra gemmy, with an impressive array of fancy dendrites that stand out in sharp contrast from a snow white background. These photos don't fully illustrate the almost water-clear areas of this stone, which add a fascinating dimension of depth. The details are revealed in the last photo, backlit. It's a beauty! The cab has a rounded dome of 5mm, a versatile designer shape, and a slick, glassy polish both front and back.
