Sugilite cab suite ~
Offered here is a suite of three matching cabochons of sugilite, from the Wessels mine near Kuramen, South Africa. These manganese gems feature a gorgeous reddish-purple coloration, in an unusual nodular pattern of spots. No, it's not the gemmy gel material few of us can find or afford, but it's definitely beautiful nonetheless. One thing I like about sugilite, other than the delightful color, is that it looks equally terrific in either silver or gold. The large cab has a well rounded dome of 6.5mm, while the pair are 3mm in thickness. Each of the three cabs have a designer teardrop shape, and an excellent polish both front and back.
