Piranha agate cab ~
Offered here is an intriguing cabochon of piranha agate, from the Brazilian state of Parana. Gorgeous coloration in this cab, very reminiscent of condor agate. This example has a trio of well defined bullseyes in a central patch of reddish orange that's bordered by a peppering of tiny dendrites. Those fancy eyes are actually milti-layered tubes seen on end. The background is a nicely translucent milky bluish agate with splashes of lighter orange, though I neglected to take a backlit photo. The stone has a gracefully fluid designer 'flame' shape, a high rounded dome of 6mm, and a super slick glassy polish both front and back.
