Fossil coral cab suite ~
Offered here is a matching trio of cabochons cut from fossilized coral, which hails from Indonesia. This fascinating material is something they're just not finding much of these days, particularly with such rich coloration, and I must say I like it alot. Pastel blends of pink, rose, orange, cream, golden yellow and more in an unmistakeable one-of-a-kind pattern of flower-like starbursts, hence the name 'flowers of the sea', as it is sometimes known. These are the highly silicated fossil remains of colonial sea coral, many millions of years old! The large cab has a nicely rounded dome of 6.5mm while the pair are 6mm in thickness. Each of the three has a complimentary designer shape that go well together, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
